July 20: Arrival Day, Pre-College at Amherst College

July 20–23: Amherst College

The program is based at Amherst College, located in Amherst, Massachusetts in the Pioneer Valley. Campus is based at the heart of Amherst, with the quaint, walkable downtown just steps away from our dorms. Most weekdays will be spent exploring Amherst and the surrounding area with our seminar groups or on afternoon and evening excursions. Excursions may be taken to surrounding towns such as Northampton, Hadley, New Haven, and Hartford.

July 24 & 25: White Mountains, Cape Cod, Montreal

On the first weekend of the program, students will join their pre-selected weekend excursion to either the White Mountains, Cape Cod, or Montreal. Depart Amherst College with your excursion group on the morning of Friday, July 24th, and return the afternoon of Sunday, July 26th.

July 26–31: Amherst College

Continue to meet daily with your seminar groups and participate in afternoon activities, sports clinics, and more.

August 1 & 2: Boston, New York, New Hampshire

During the second weekend of the program, we continue to explore New England. Saturday, August 1st, head as a group to Boston. Tour Harvard, MIT, or Boston College. Walk the Freedom trail, visit the Boston Aquarium, and grab lunch at Faneuil Hall in downtown Boston.

On Sunday, August 2nd, International students and students not from the northeast will have the opportunity to visit New York. Visit NYU or Columbia, take in the sights and lights of Times Square, or take a stroll in Central Park. Students not joining the New York excursion will continue to explore the Pioneer Valley and its surrounding area. Head to Mass MoCA to see the latest exhibit, visit Yale University, check out the Hadley Flea Market, or make your way to the New Hampshire seacoast for a day of surfing.

August 3–7 : Amherst

Continue to meet daily with your seminar groups and begin to polish your final pieces and presentations. On the final evening of the program, present your work to the Pre-College at Amherst College community, reflect on your experience, and say your final farewells.

August 8: Departure Day
